Review Time
I honestly didn't think I needed an uptime monitor for my blog until my host had a major outage and I didn't know for hours. I signed up for UptimeSpot the next day. The price is fair and it gives me confidence that I'll know immediately if there's a problem.
We had an issue where we got an alert but our site seemed fine. It turned out to be a CDN routing issue in a specific region. The support team helped us adjust the monitoring locations to avoid this in the future. A bit annoying at first, but they resolved it well.
The service itself is rock solid. We've never had a missed alert. However, the mobile app and web UI can be a bit clunky to navigate on a phone screen. It's not a dealbreaker, but an updated mobile experience would make this a 5-star for me.
As a DevOps lead, quick and detailed alerting is key. UptimeSpot's integration with Slack is perfect. It provides enough detail in the initial alert that we can start diagnosing the problem immediately. The public status pages are a great bonus for communicating with users.
